Work in Canada
How it works
The process around securing a working holiday visa and a job for Canada can be a confusing one. Here’s our step-by-step guide to getting a visa and getting hired on our Work Canada program.
Togs not required. Enter your name into the working holiday pool of candidates and make a splash. You’ll receive guidelines on how to apply for your visa once you’re booked onto a program.
Wait impatiently for the email from the Canadian Government that says ‘Invitation to Apply’. Let us know and we’ll send you the visa instructions to make sure everything is filled out correctly and your visa isn’t refused.
Whether you’ve asked us for help securing a job or you’re doing your own thing, it just got real!
Ultimate travellers. Check out our employers and see who you’d like to work for. We’ll then set up and prep you for the interviews.
Essential travellers. We’ll send you through our job listings and if anything takes your fancy, you can apply directly with the employer.
Commence happy dance. This is the letter from the Canadian government which is basically your visa. You have 12 months from the letter date to enter Canada.
Start ticking off your to-do list.
Check up-to-date travel advice and restrictions so you know what’s what, then book your flights. Let us know your arrival date so we can book your arrival accommodation (Essential and Ultimate travellers). Remember, you need valid travel insurance to make it past immigration. Once you’ve landed, we’ll connect you with SWAP, our Canadian partner. They’ll set you up with everything you need to start your working holiday visa.
When should I apply for the Work Canada program?
You can book onto the Work Canada program year-round, although visas are limited and are usually released at the end of the year or beginning of the following year. The 2024 IEC pools are now open.
